Max is an adorable, 5 month old, 17lb Poodle / Schnauzer mix (please note that we do not DNA test our rescue dogs, so this is simply an educated guess based on appearance). We expect this handsome little guy to be approximately 30 to 35 lbs full grown.<br/><br/>Max has a very special story because we actually rescued his mom from a Texas shelter back in March, so we know exactly who his mama is! We included a photo of her in Max’s adoption listing so you can see where he gets his good looks. Max had actually already been adopted from the shelter in Texas before we were able to rescue his mom back in March, but sadly was recently returned to the same shelter when his adopter realized she simply did not have the time that raising a puppy requires. Now he is here in Colorado, ready for a fresh start.<br/><br/>This sweet boy is everything you could want in a young pup. Max is happy, affectionate, playful, and full of fun puppy energy. He absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with canine playmates or an active family ready to include him in adventures, walks, playtime, and continued training. He has a friendly, social personality and brings joy everywhere he goes.<br/><br/>Like any puppy his age, Max is still learning all the important puppy basics and will need a family committed to continued training and socialization as he grows. In return, you’ll get an incredibly loving companion who is ready to become someone’s best friend for life.<br/>Since Max is just a puppy, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion. Max will form firm bonds with his family and learn positive socialization skills through virtual or in-person positive reinforcement puppy kindergarten followed by force-free level 1 Obedience Classes. These classes will make a profound difference in a puppy's ultimate behavior and in their relationship/bonding with their people. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you out in the world with excellent behavior.<br/><br/>Max is neutered and up to date on his vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. <br/><br/>Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial.<br/><br/>Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.<br/><br/>Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup.
