Max's Story
Meet Max – The Big, Bouncy, One-Dog Tornado With a Heart of Gold
Max may look like a tough guy at first glance, but spend just a moment with him and you’ll discover a sensitive, goofy soul who’s still figuring out how to navigate the world. Since arriving at the shelter, this large and aloof gentleman has settled in with quiet confidence, exploring his surroundings with curiosity—and a surprising knack for counter-surfing and checking every garbage can for "hidden treasures." He’ll approach his caretakers with interest, though affection isn’t really his style; Max will tolerate pets but prefers to keep interactions on his own terms. Training and structure will go a long way for him, especially in helping him focus when he gets excited.
And oh, does Max love to play. Once a tennis ball hits the floor, he transforms into a whirlwind of joyful chaos—galloping around the room, bouncing like a tornado, and proudly showing off his toys. With other dogs, Max makes his preferences clear: he’d much rather not. He’s looking for a home where he can be the only pet. Max is looking for a patient adopter who understands that some dogs don’t want a busy social life—they just want their person, their yard, and their favorite ball. If you’re ready to help this big, sensitive guy learn, grow, and feel safe, Max may be the perfect match waiting for you.

This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition!
