Max's Story

Max<br/>is a super sweet, tender-hearted pup who is looking for a patient, loving home. While he may be timid at first—often preferring to watch the world go by from a cozy, safe spot—he has a heart of gold and is incredibly gentle when he warms up.<br/><br/>Energy Level?<br/>Medium<br/><br/>House trained?<br/>No, we keep him in a pen with potty pads when we can take him outside. But he is smart and very eager to please his human. He will get it in no time with consistency.<br/><br/>Describe how they are on a leash?<br/>He is not used to walking on a leash, but is much better with a harness. Max does not like being pulled by his neck with just a collar. Currently, I have fastened the Martingale collar to the harness in order to be able to practice walking on a leash for his safety.<br/><br/>Describe how they are with other dogs?<br/>Max is friendly and great with other dogs.<br/><br/>Have they been around cats or other animals? How were they?<br/>Max is great with the resident dog. I have found them snuggling together on the couch. He has passed the cat test and would be fine with cats.<br/><br/>Commands they know?<br/>Max comes when you call him, but he hasn't had much training and would definitely benefit from basic training.<br/><br/>What are their favorite things?<br/>Cuddles, hanging out outside, playing with plushy toys, and mealtimes.<br/><br/>What do they need to work on?<br/>Building confidence, basic training, and leash training.<br/><br/>How are they when left alone? How long have they been left alone?<br/>Max sleeps when he is left alone. He may cry for a few minutes at first, but he stops within 5 minutes.
