Max's Story

Meet Max – Your Next Adventure Buddy and Snuggle Pro

Looking for a dog who’s equal parts goofball, cuddle bug, and loyal companion? Meet Max, a 4-year-old neutered male with a heart of gold and a wagging tail that never quits. Weighing in at a lean 40 pounds, Max loves attention!

Max is the kind of dog who just wants to be where his people are. Whether it's snuggling on the couch, handing out kisses, or following you from room to room, he's happiest when he's close to those he loves. He’s playful, social, and especially fond of games like tug-of-war, which he’ll proudly win (or let you win, if he's feeling generous).

What Max Loves:

Long walks and outdoor adventures

Playing with other dogs (he’s a social butterfly!)

Toys and treats

Being part of a family and showered with love

Max has done wonderfully in his foster home, which includes both small and large children. He adores kids but should be supervised around the little ones — sometimes he forgets he’s not a tiny lap dog! He’s also perfectly content as a solo pet, as long as you’re ready to give him plenty of love, attention, and playtime.

About Max:
Max is smart, eager to please, and highly motivated by both treats and praise. He’s learned basic commands, is house trained and is a great candidate for learning a doggie door. He gets excited when his favorite people are around and loves to jumps on them to get head rubs and some love. Max can find a corner to take a nap or join you on the sofa and place his head on your lap. He loves his walks, is good with at home baths and paling with his dog pals.

What Max Needs:
A loving home with someone who’s ready to invest time in consistent training and daily exercise. He does great being left alone during the workday, especially if he’s had a walk or has a furry friend to hang out with.

Max is more than ready to find his forever home — could it be with you? If you’re looking for a fun-loving, loyal companion who’ll keep you smiling for years to come, Max might just be your perfect match.

? Interested in meeting Max? Heart and Home Animal Rescue Foundation's Adoption Policy
*Please note that at the present time, we do not adopt our dogs out of state. Our adoption process is as follows: 1) Adoption application. The questionnaire is designed to help HHARF and yourself determine compatibility with the dog you are interested in and if they are the right one for you and your household. The goal is not to be invasive but to find the best possible match for each dog and their future family. All interested adopters are required to complete this form for adoption consideration. Submission of the application is not a guarantee you will be able to adopt the dog you are interested in. If we determine your application is a fit for the dog you applied for, we move forward to the next step. 2) Meet & Greet. Meeting the dog you are interested in is important to test compatibility with members of the family they will be living with. Therefore, we suggest that all family members in the household come to the meet and greet if possible. We can schedule a meet and greet with a location and time agreed upon by HHARF and the adopting family. If all goes well and both HHARF and the adopting family agree to move forward, we move on to next step. 3) Home Check. A home check is necessary to ensure the dog will be in a safe home environment. In the interior, we check to make sure there are no hazards that might cause harm. For the exterior, we look to make sure there are no avenues of escape. We can make suggestions based on the dog you are applying for. A home check can be scheduled with a date and time agreed upon by HHARF and the adopting family. 4) Adoption contract. If all goes well and both HHARF and the adopting family agree to move forward an adoption contract is completed and a tax-deductible adoption donation will be collected. 5) Once the contract is complete, you and your new family member can start your new journey together. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions you may have. Heart and Home Animal Rescue Foundation (951) 708-0626 Heartandhomerescueorg@gmail.com We are also on Facebook and Instagram
