Max's Story

Meet magnificent Max- This handsome pittie mix is looking for his forever person. At first glance, he might seem ferocious, but you'll soon find out that he's just ferociously goofy! Max can be a bit reserved when he meets new people, but once he warms up it's all about the belly scratches, ear rubs and snuggles. Max loves his person/pack and does not welcome strangers into the home or yard until he gets the ok from his people. Max responds well to a strong but loving leader and he is extremely food motivated. He is a very smart boy although it's sometimes overshadowed by his stubborness. Max is also potty-trained, crate-trained (yummy treat motivation needed since he's not a fan of the crate) and knows how to use a dog door. He will even sit and wait for his food until his person gives him the okay to eat. Max would love someone dedicated to continue teaching him leash skills and basic obedience training.

This big boy has been living in his foster home for several months with a sassy 10 lb. terrier mix and they are good buddies- he even lets the little one boss him around. That being said, Max needs slow and proper introductions to other dogs and might do best as the only dog in the home so he can enjoy all your time and love for himself.

Older children in the household would be preferred since Max isn't quite aware of his own strength and clumsiness in his tendency for rough play. Due to a very strong prey-drive, Max should not live in a home with cats.

Some of his favorite activities? Going for car rides, patrolling the yard and chasing away all the bunnies and squirrels that dare to invade his territory and lounging in the sunshine. Indoors, he's a very mellow boy who enjoys snoozing on the couch, looking out the window to watch for critters that need to be chased, chewing on his bones and destroying soft, fluffy toys.

If you think you might be the person he has been eagerly waiting for, please submit an application to meet magnificent Max today!

*Homeownership required!

Adoption fee includes the following:

Spay/Neuter
Rabies Vaccination
Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies)
Bordetella
Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration
