Mavericks's Story

Mavericks, affectionately called Mavs, is a red nose pitbull with a striking presence and a heart of gold. Estimated to have been born in May 2024, she's now almost two years old - and she carries the best traits of maturity and playfulness. Found abandoned in a field, she's since become the kind of dog who surprises people: she may look tough, but she's one of the most affectionate, snuggly, and gentle companions you could ever meet.

At around 50 pounds, Mavs is on the smaller side for her breed. She's past the puppy stage but still has plenty of joyful, goofy energy. She loves to play and explore, but she also knows how to settle in and be calm. Whether she's following you from room to room, curling up beside you, or rolling over for belly rubs, Mavs makes it clear she's happiest when she's near her people. She has the most expressive eyes, a signature pitty smile, and a gentle nature that melts hearts everywhere she goes.

She gets along beautifully with other dogs and has done well with cats too. Mavs is social, curious, and enjoys meeting new people - often approaching them with a wagging tail and a hopeful glance, just waiting for a scratch behind the ears. She loves going on walks, watching the world from a window, chomping on a good bone, and earning treats with that sweet, expectant look she's mastered.

Mavs is spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention. She's made amazing strides with potty training and will continue to improve in a home with a yard and a little consistency. She's affectionate but respectful, and always eager to be part of the action - or your nap.

She'll thrive in a home where dogs are welcome indoors and on furniture, where other animals are present to play and bond with, and where she can be close to people who value connection, routine, and love. She doesn't demand the spotlight - but she absolutely deserves it.

If you're looking for a loyal, cuddly, hilarious, and loving companion, Mavericks is your girl. She's ready to be someone's forever - and we hope it might be you. Please reach out to learn more or meet this incredible pup.

Mavericks is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.
