Maverick (aka Lucky)

Meet Maverick, aka Lucky!

Maverick is a little guy with a BIG personality—and in his mind, he is absolutely the king of his castle.

Maverick is happiest in a low-key home where life is predictable and he can feel safe and secure. He takes his role as head of household very seriously and isn't shy about letting visitors know whether or not they have received his official stamp of approval. Because of this, he's looking for an adopter who understands that beneath all that machoness is a little dog who sometimes needs help feeling safe in his own space.

And while Maverick may be small, he prefers to keep all four paws firmly on the ground. We know how tempting it can be to scoop up the little guys, but Maverick would rather you resist the urge. He isn't a fan of being picked up and needs a family who will respect that boundary and let him come to them on his own terms.

His person will need to be willing to set appropriate boundaries, manage introductions and visitors, and make sure Maverick doesn't get himself into trouble trying to be tougher than he really is.

The good news? Maverick is great with other dogs and genuinely enjoys their companionship. Having canine friends around suits him just fine—as long as everyone remembers who owns the castle, of course.

Maverick doesn't need a busy social calendar or a revolving door of visitors. He needs someone who appreciates him for exactly who he is and can give him the quieter, structured home where he can relax and stop feeling like he has to be in charge of everything.

If you're looking for a pint-sized ruler, loyal companion, and canine roommate all rolled into one, Maverick may just be your guy. Give this little king the right castle, and we think he'll consider you very Lucky indeed.

Mostly Muttz Rescue, PO Box 406, Gilbertsville, PA 19525
PA Kennel License 10872
