Maverick's Story
Maverick is a 1-year-old mixed-breed dog who came to us from Georgia with a history we know very little about. We don’t know how he ended up in the shelter system or how he lost his leg, but Maverick doesn’t seem particularly concerned with either.

Maverick is sweet, social, playful, and genuinely just a delight to be around. He previously lived with a small dog and did wonderfully, and his recent introduction to a larger dog went just as well. He was happy to make a new friend and enjoyed running around and playing with him.

He has also done well with kids. Cats are a little more exciting—Maverick wants to interact and play with them, so a confident, dog-savvy cat may be a good match. A home without cats would work just fine, too.

And yes, Maverick only has three legs. You wouldn't know it from watching him get around. He runs, jumps, plays, and handles everyday life without hesitation. He takes Dasuquin long-term to support his joints and help keep those three legs feeling their best.

For a one-year-old dog, Maverick is actually pretty easygoing. He enjoys playing and having fun, but he isn't constantly looking for something to do. He's affectionate, friendly, and perfectly happy just being part of whatever is going on around him.

Maverick is ready for a family who will appreciate him for exactly what he is: a really lovely young dog who happens to be missing a leg.

Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful.
