Maverick (26-153)'s Story
Meet Maverick

Maverick is a young boy, about 1 year old, who recently arrived to us from another shelter in New Jersey. He's still very new to the rescue, and we are just beginning to learn more about him as he starts to settle in.

At this time, Maverick is quite shy, and we don't know much about his past or why he originally ended up in the shelter system. What we do know is that Maverick does have a broken hip and knee that, unfortunately, were not addressed in a timely manner before coming to us. At this point, there is no corrective treatment available. He will have a permanent limp as a result of these injuries. The only alternative would be amputation, but our veterinarian does not feel that is necessary at this time, as Maverick is comfortable and able to get around.

Despite everything he's been through, Maverick is safe now and patiently waiting for his forever home. He will require time, patience, and a quiet, understanding environment as he heals both physically and emotionally.

We're hopeful that once he is on the mend, Maverick will begin to feel more comfortable and show us the personality waiting underneath it all.
