With her bright blue eyes, goofy smile, and happy personality, we truly cannot understand how this girl is still waiting for a forever home.<br/><br/>Maura is right around 1 year old and has been in rescue since she was just a puppy. A WHOLE puppyhood spent waiting for someone to choose her. And honestly? We suspect she may be suffering from the very unfair “black dog curse” — where amazing black dogs somehow get overlooked while flashier pups get scooped up first. In fact, while her foster family is out of town, Maura has been staying with our other adoptable pup, Tiana the Rottweiler… and the two became instant besties. Like “summer camp friendship montage” level besties. <br/><br/>At about 38 lbs (breeds unknown...maybe Aussie or Border Collie in there?) , Maura is the perfect medium size — big enough for hiking adventures and outdoor fun, but compact enough to travel easily and curl up on the couch afterward. She’s sturdy, athletic, cuddly, and always ready to make you laugh with her wonderfully dopey grin.<br/><br/>Honestly, we think Maura’s biggest flaw is that she hasn’t figured out how to market herself yet. Maybe if she came in “limited edition golden retriever color” she’d already be adopted.
