Maui's Story

Meet Maui!
Maui is a 6 year old male Labrador Retriever mix. He is here through no fault of his own due to his owner having to move and not being able to bring him along.
Maui had been with his previous owners since he was a puppy, and he is used to living that good and simple life. Don't let his age fool you, as Maui still has plenty of energy and loves some good playtime! In his previous home Maui was around dogs big and small and got along with them all. He's also been around kids and was a perfect gentleman to them as well! He's never lived with cats, but his previous owner said that whenever Maui saw them outdoor she never paid them much mind. To give you peace of mind, we always recommend a meet and greet with the whole family prior to adoption to make sure it's a good fit.
Maui spent most of his time in his previous home in an outdoor kennel, usually only coming indoors when the weather was unsafe. His owners said he rarely had accidents in the house, but since he mainly lived outdoors they never fully potty-trained him. He may need some help adjusting to indoor life and setting a routine early on is key! Maui does know a few basic commands such as sit and lay down. One thing Maui is still getting use to is the leash. He does well on one, but may have moments where he pulls you a little hard.
As we get to know Maui more we will update his bio with everything we've learned so you can see how special this boy truly is! While he hasn't been at the shelter long, we can already tell he is a huge sweetheart and will be a great addition to the right home. Maui has received his first round of vaccinations and is ready to be back with a family that will cherish him. If you think this boy could be the dog for you, come out and meet Maui today!
