Maui's Story
Maui had a rough life before being in PAWS care. The beginning of our history of Maui, is of his time at Berrian County Animal Control. He was at that place and in a cage for 6 months. He was very stressed there and also had Heart Worms. He was scheduled to be euthanized on that Friday evening. Some of the volunteers called 80 different rescues to help him, before us, and we took him.

Here however he has enjoyed his foster brother and sister and gotten to walk the farm. He enjoys watching the chickens. He has had a run in with the outdoor cat but that is normal behavior. If a cat or anything runs, the dogs nature is to run after it. He has gone into the bedroom with our 3 indoor cats and acts just fine though. Maui walks at his pace and doesn’t pull except for those pesky outdoor cats.

There are two children at the foster home and they are very secure in being around him and he is fairly protective.

He is a very handsome dog and he knows it :).

We had the Heartworm treatment $1800 worth, he is neutered and up to date on all his vaccinations. He is heart worm free and totally healthy.

Anyone who is lucky enough to adopt Maui will not be disappointed. You will have a friend for life
