Maude's Story
Meet Maude! When a rescue dog inspires her own line of merchandise, you know she's something special. Maude's fans demanded merchandise featuring her signature "Oh Heck" expression, and it's been flying off the shelves.

The first time you meet Maude, you look at her face and think she's had enough of everyone's nonsense. But then she'll speed waddle over to you and give you all the kisses, only asking for belly rubs in return, before curling up beside you like she's been yours forever. Maude is impossibly soft and squishy, delightfully potato-shaped, and her tail is almost always wagging, though she still somehow looks like she's quietly judging you at all times.

Taking Maude out in public is an event. People everywhere immediately stop whatever they're doing to admire her. Case in point: the staff at the emergency vet when she first arrived. When her vet tech took her to the back for her exam, all we could hear echoing down the hallway was, "Look at my girl Maude!" followed by actual applause.

Maude is a self-proclaimed couch enthusiast who loves basking in sunny spots, watching the world go by, and giving it her all when she skedaddles across the room to greet you after you've been away. Her legs don't always cooperate as quickly as she'd like due to two high-grade luxating patellas, but her enthusiasm isn't dimmed one bit. She rides beautifully in the car, sleeps through the night, is housebroken with pee pads, and is perfectly content chilling home alone while you're away. She loves to snuggle, gets along well with dogs, cats, and respectful older children. She would be happiest in a calm, quiet home where life moves at a gentler pace.

Like many senior dogs, Maude comes with a few maintenance requirements. She has a collapsing trachea that causes an occasional cough, severe luxating patellas that limit her mobility, and a history of bladder and kidney stones. She'll need lifelong medication for her cough, a prescription urinary diet, and a family committed to helping her continue her weight-loss journey so she stays as comfortable and mobile as possible. Maude isn't leash trained so she'll need a fenced yard, and she also needs a lift to go up and down any staircases. Maude adores riding in strollers so she can view, and quietly judge, the neighborhood.

Maude is looking for snacks, snuggles, and, most of all, someone who understands that effectively managing her mobility, diet, and cough is the best way to show their love for her.

If you're in need of a squishy potato-shaped sidekick to judge people and gossip with, look no further.
