Mattie's Story
At 10 years young and a perfectly portable 24 pounds, Mattie is proof that some of the very best dogs come with a little life experience.
When Mattie first came to K9 Kismet, she had clearly been through a lot. She was underweight, uncomfortable from years of neglected medical care, and very ready for someone to finally make her the priority.
So that’s exactly what we did.
Fast forward a few weeks and Mattie is feeling GOOD. She’s gained weight, had a much-needed dental, had a mass removed that thankfully came back benign, and is finally getting to enjoy life without all that discomfort.
And through all of it? She has been an absolute doll.
Mattie is sweet, easygoing and wonderfully social. She’s done well with dogs, cats and people of all ages. She’s the kind of girl who doesn’t need your life to revolve around her. She’d just really like to be included in it.
At 10, Mattie isn’t looking for a wild new adventure. She’s looking for the good stuff: a comfy bed, tasty meals, leisurely strolls, people to love and a home where she never has to wonder if she matters again.
Her hard chapter is behind her.
Now we just need to find the person who gets to give Mattie her happily ever after.
