Matthew's Story

Everything is a game for Matthew! He loves to play; He also would love a family of his very own. Matthew loves other dogs and is fine with cats as well. He is a smart boy who has some energy - he would love an active family who will take him on hikes. A securely fenced yard will let him run and play in nice weather as well. His ideal family will have a quiet lifestyle inside the home. He is not a dog who makes friends instantly, and would have to be introduced to all new people gradually. We are looking for a one or two person adult home for him, with people who have experience with herding breeds. We're not sure of his mix except that we know he's 100% adorable. Matthew really enjoys using his brain as well as needing daily physical exercise. Furry Friends Foster and Rescue, Inc.'s Adoption Policy

Our goal is to help you find a wonderful new family member! We work closely with you to ensure that the dog you adopt will be a wonderful match for your family's make-up and lifestyle. Our adoption and foster placement processes includes an application, personal and vet reference checks, a home visit, and a meet and greet with the dog and all family members and other pets. Placement is considered on the basis of the best interests of the dog and the best fit with the family - we do not adopt on a "first come, first served" basis. We do not transport our dogs outside of the state of CT. If you live outside of CT and are able to travel to us after an application is approved, with your family and other pets, for a meet and greet and to complete the adoption in CT if that goes well, you're welcome to apply to adopt one of our dogs, as long as you live in one of the New England states. We do not adopt our dogs long-distance, or outside of the New England area. PLEASE NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes within the state of CT. We do not have a facility. For that reason we ask that you go through the application/approval process prior to a meet and greet, which is always part of our placement protocol. We do this because we try to keep our foster families' day to day lives s uninterrupted as possible. You can fill out an adoption application at our website.
