Matilda's Story
Meet Matilda!

Positives:
Matilda is a beautiful and gentle husky who’s been blossoming more and more every week. When she first arrived, she was shy and uncertain — but with time, love, and consistency, her sweet personality has started to shine.

She’s fully house-trained and has never made a mess indoors. Her leash skills are improving every week, and she’s starting to enjoy her walks more as her confidence grows. Matilda has also begun to show her silly, playful side — from spontaneous zoomies to happy wiggles getting in and out of the truck!

She’s formed a lovely bond with her husky friend Sugar and seems to take comfort in having another dog around. Matilda greets familiar people with gentle hand kisses and enjoys quiet morning cuddles. She’s also started relaxing more around the house, often sprawling out on her bed or yours, rather than curling up tightly. Seeing her open up is pure magic.

She loves being outside, especially in the cool weather, where she’ll happily curl up on the patio in true husky fashion — nose tucked behind her tail.

Things she needs support on:
Matilda is still learning that the world is a safe place. She can be timid in new situations or around strangers, but her progress over the past month has been incredible. With a patient, calm environment and gentle encouragement, she’ll continue to build confidence.

She tends to bond more quickly with dogs than with humans at first, but once trust is earned, she shows deep affection and loyalty. Continued work on her leash manners and confidence-building will help her flourish even more.

She would do best in a quieter home, ideally with another confident dog who can help guide her and keep her company.

Location: Langley, BC
Age: ~2–3 years old
Size: ~55 lbs
Gender: Female
Vaccinations & Spay: Up to date & spayed
Potty trained: Yes – fully house-trained
Crate trained: In progress / respectful indoors
Kid friendly: Yes, best with calm, older children
Dog friendly: Yes, especially with slow introductions
Cat friendly: Unknown
Energy level: Medium
Drive: Low prey drive
