Massimo's Story

Meet Massimo, a dog who has never once considered the concept of “stranger danger” and has instead committed his entire being to the belief that every single person on earth is simply a friend he hasn’t hugged yet.

The first thing you’ll notice is his face — sweet, goofy, and framed by those unmistakable elf-like ears that look permanently tuned to happiness. The second thing you’ll notice is that he is already on his way toward you. Tail wagging. Whole body involved. Consent? Assumed. Love? Immediate.

Massimo has a smooth, short coat that practically begs for petting, and he is more than happy to supervise this activity closely. Snuggles are not optional. He comes in hot for affection and settles in like he’s always belonged right there, against your leg, under your arm, in your life.

On walks, he’s a delight — polite on leash, easy to handle — until he decides there is somewhere important to be, at which point he shifts into a cheerful power-walk like a man late for brunch with friends he loves. He’s bouncy, peppy, and always operating at a joyful trot, as if life itself is very exciting and he’d hate to miss a moment.

Socially? A 60-pound body of pure friendliness. Massimo loves other dogs and thrives with a playful, higher-energy buddy. He’s wonderful with kids, good with cats, and truly believes the world is one big group project he’s thrilled to be part of.

He’s 4 years old, crate trained, and happiest when life includes enrichment — yard play, walks, toys, attention, and being included in whatever you’re doing. An active person or family who wants a dog that shows up fully will be his dream come true.

Massimo was saved from the shelter’s urgent list and has spent the last year in rescue, perfecting his craft: being an absolute delight.

He’s in foster now, waiting for his forever people.
Fair warning: once you meet him, he will assume you’re already friends. And honestly? He’s probably right.
