Mason's Story

Hi! My name is Mason and I'm the most beautiful 4 year old Foxhound and fully grown at 63 pounds. I need to find a new home because my Mom got a lung transplant so she can't take care of me anymore. I'm the sweetest boy and I have an excellent temperament. I get along great with everyone I meet and other dogs too! I've been tested with cats and I'm cool with them too! I'm a calm and sweet boy and really well behaved and so easy to live with. I'm healthy, housebroken, crate-trained and up to date on all my vaccinations. I'm praying a loving adopter finds me and gives me a forever home and my happily ever after. I promise that I'll be a great member of your family! Please reach out to Long Road Home (lrhrescue@gmail.com) to find out more info about me.

Long Road Home's Adoption Policy
Where do we get our dogs? Majority of our dogs come from high kill shelters. Some are owner surrender or strays. All of the dogs that come into our rescue have been in high emergency situations where they would not be wagging their tails. We work with a lot of shelters in the south as well as on long island. We have wonderful people who dedicate their time to the dogs and transport them into our long island foster homes.   What happens to the dog after we accept it into the program? All of the dogs first go to see a vet. Once they receive a clean bill of health the go into a home. We normally give each dog at least a week in a home with qualified trainer before we place the dog into a foster. We really like to have the dogs house broken and to have at least started basic obedience training. After the trainer we place the dog into its new foster home until it finds its forever home.
