Mary's Story

Mary was roaming the streets in McGhee and got picked up and was in a shelter for 10 months in Arkansas. She found herself on the euthanize list for her uncanny ability to get out of her pen. Monticello 2nd Chance Fur Dogs Rescue didn’t want to let this young, sweet girl have that fate so they picked her up and got her into one of their foster homes. As loving, indoor homes are hard to find in that area of Arkansas, Monticello reached out to Brookline to help rehome her.
Brookline is looking for a foster or foster to adopt for Mary so that she can be transported from Arkansas.

Mary has been in foster care in AR for about 3 months now. When she first arrived, she tested positive for heartworm. She was treated for the heartworm and officially tested negative on August 24 so this sweetheart is now ready to find her forever home!

One thing to know about Mary is that she is a hugger! She loves her people, and strangers alike. She can melt everyone’s hearts with her sweetness.

She is good with other dogs and cat tested very well. She is currently left inside with 7 other dogs when her foster goes to work during the day. Mary prefers calm dogs that occasionally like a gentle game of chase and who don't try to steal her toys or food.

Please reach out to info@brooklinelabrescue.org if you are interested in fostering or fostering to adopt Mary!

To learn more about Mary, please check out her blog: https://brooklinelabrescue.org/blog/mary-black-labrador-retriever-mix-female-1-year-4-months-old/

PLEASE NOTE: While this Lab may not be available for adoption by the time you complete the adoption process, other great Labs are always finding their way into our Rescue.
