Mary's Story

Mary is a 2-year-old Aussie mix weighing in at 36 pounds, fully grown. She was rescued in Marion County, South Carolina, where she was found living as a stray with her mate, Tripp, and their puppies. Her little family has since found their forever homes—now it’s finally Mary’s turn.

Mary’s journey has not been an easy one. She is still considered feral and remains fearful of people. Because of this, she will only thrive in a home with other dogs. In the company of canine companions, Mary begins to let her guard down and learns how to trust and simply be a dog.

She is housebroken, walks beautifully on a leash, and is slowly gaining confidence each day. Mary’s ideal family will be patient, understanding, and experienced, ready to give her the time and love she needs to blossom. Older children who can understand that Mary needs time and space to warm up would be best for her.

With the right environment and the support of fellow dogs, Mary has so much potential to become a cherished part of a home. Apply to adopt this beautiful girl to give her the forever home she so truly deserves.

Mary is spayed, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, and microchipped.

**Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. All adoption applications must be completed on www.hfgdr.org**

HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC.
