Marty's Story

Meet Marty: A Sweet and Spunky Boy Looking for a Forever Home!

At 3 years old and 47lbs, Marty found himself at North Central shelter in February after being surrendered by his owner due to a move. Despite the sudden change in his life, Marty has remained resilient and is a friendly boy with everyone he meets. At the shelter he was known to be affectionate with handlers and showed a gentle and tolerant play style in dog playgroups. Thanks to some dedicated fosters, our team at Dog Coalition was able to help spring him out!

Now in his foster home, Marty is settling into a routine and learning the ins and outs of home life again. He is house and crate trained and working on polite leash walking skills. Marty is friendly and enjoys the company of having another dog around, showing his playful and polite doggy manners. He is also opening up and showing his goofier side by enjoying the occasional zoomies! He is eager to please, a fast learner who already knows some basic obedience. And for the cherry on top: this guy is a snugglebug who loves to cuddle.

Marty would likely do well in a home with another dog companion, but could also be happy as a solo pup with a loving family and continued socialization. He was recently tested with a cat as well and shows promising behavior to peacefully coexist with one in a home. According to his shelter notes he came from a home with children, so we believe he could be a wonderful candidate for a family with kids. His low-medium energy demeanor could also make him a great match for someone looking for a chill companion to enjoy the occasional outing or adventure with.

What You Should Know About Marty:

- A 3-year-old absolute sweetheart looking for a forever family to offer love, stability, and a cozy place to call home

- Eager-to-please snuggle bug who would love a cozy bed or lap to lay on

- Calm, friendly temperament with a low-medium energy vibe.
