Marty's Story

We were recently contacted by a family that’s in need of rehoming their 4 adult Beagles due to no fault of their own, we were told that they no longer have enough time to care for them as their lifestyle has changed and now they travel often. They’re all mostly outdoor dogs and are only crate trained (they sleep indoors at night). So we’ll be looking for families that would be able to train them to become indoor pets. Not bonded, we can place them in separate homes. We’re hoping to take them in as soon as we can so we start their Vet care, spay/neuter, etc. But we need to have some families lined up for at least some of them to be able to commit cause they’re several. All are good around kids, we were told that they have 2 kids in the family (16yo and 7yo).

Marty. This is what we know about him by his current family:

“This is Marty: He’s a 7 years old tri Lilac (fawn/tan/white) boy. Loves to run, not as playful anymore, understands commands. Loves to play catch.”

Included with adoption:

- Vet wellness exam
- Vaccinations up to date (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies)
- Rabies Certificate
- Fecal test: (Pending results)
- FLEX4 test (Heartworm, Anaplasma, Ehrilichia & Lyme): (Pending results)
- Heartworm/Flea/Tick/Worm preventive will be given (Simparica Trio)
- Microchip with prepaid lifetime enrollment (AKC reunite)
- Neuter surgery
- Leash and collar with microchip ID collar tag
- Adoption contract
- Some of his current food

Pick up would be in San Diego, CA. Transportation could be arranged to the right home, if needed.

If Marty sounds like a potentially good fit for your family, and you’d be interested in adopting soon, feel free to fill out our adoption application form and we’ll be back with you. That’s the only pic we have of him (the Beagle next to him is his son), we’ll update the post once we receive more pics. Adoption fee for our mature Beagles is $500.

CA Beagles's Adoption Policy
We start providing the info and pics/videos of the dogs available for adoption. When we have a family interested in our dogs we send the adoption application form (we ask several questions and request pictures of the home where the dog would be living at). If the application is approved we move forward with the adoption contract. We meet with the potential adopter and the dog. If all goes well in the meeting the potential adopter can take the dog home after the meeting. Once the dog is adopted we do periodic follow ups to make sure it was a good fit and dog is doing well.
