It took all of his 43 days with us but it finally happened - Marty will now finally come and take treats out of our hands. And it brings us endless joy.<br/>Marty is a bit cautious and timid when we are watching, but he is a fun-loving beagle when no one is watching. He and his buddy, Alex, were found as strays - they were chasing a trash truck. They were probably wondering why that great big truck was taking all of their potential food away.<br/>Once at our shelter, Alex became Mr. Personality, while Marty watched us all with a cautious eye. Slowly, Marty realized that great things came along with us - like lots of food and treats and toys, not to mention a warm room with lots of blankets on the bed.<br/>And with this new realization, Marty started to seem happy when he saw us. Instead of running away from us, he would ever so slowly approach us. And then he just couldn't help himself - when he realized we had treats in our hand, he said yes, please.<br/>Marty is a sweet and soulful four-years-old. He loves to sniff and sniff and sniff. And now he will even endlessly sniff us! <br/>If you have patience and you love a great reward, Marty is your guy. Few things are more satisfying than earning the trust of a shy dog.
