Marty's Story

Marty is a very trusting, people-oriented pup who loves nothing more than curling up like a tiny donut in your lap. He’s easy to handle, affectionate, and gives the gentlest nose kisses. His foster says he has been an absolute sweetheart from day one and is wonderfully easy to have around.

Marty is friendly with other dogs and, after just a few days, settled beautifully into a house routine with no accidents after day three. He’s also a quick learner, and his leash skills improved dramatically in just a few days. He’s typically quiet, and even when he does bark, he’s not high-pitched and is easily redirected.

Marty can be protective of attention, so he’ll benefit from an adopter who can help him continue practicing good manners. He may try to nip at the ankles of people walking too close (especially men), and he may growl at other dogs from a distance. With slow, mindful introductions, he does well meeting dogs up close.

Marty doesn’t need much activity and would do well with a calm, lower-key household. This little sweetheart just wants some caring arms to be in and will thrive in any patient household.

Thank you for considering an OTAT-WTX rescue! All pets are living in foster homes, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on core vaccines.

If you are interested in adopting, or for more information, please visit our website: https://otatwtx.org/how-to-adopt

Virtually everyone lives off the grid down winding dirt roads. There’s not much for local economy; people are...
