Martha's Story

Meet Martha

1 Year Old | Spayed Female | Lab Mix

If your dream dog is equal parts cuddle bug, walking buddy, and gentle best friend... Martha may be your perfect match.

This sweet girl has already done an amazing job raising her puppies (who are also looking for homes!), and now it's finally Martha's turn to be someone's baby.

Martha is pure love. She's the kind of dog who greets you with enthusiastic hugs, showers you in kisses, and then happily curls up next to you at bedtime and sleeps soundly through the night. Her favorite place? Right beside her people.

She's wonderful on walks and stays close by your side the entire time. Martha can be a little timid with new experiences at first—things like wearing a harness were brand new to her—but she has shown over and over that she adapts beautifully and faces each new challenge with quiet courage.

Martha absolutely LOVES other dogs and is always excited to make friends and play. Because of her play style and enthusiasm, she would likely thrive with medium to large dog companions. Cats? No problem at all. Martha completely ignores them and has even been known to nap peacefully beside them on the bed.

She's also a smart girl who responds well to gentle corrections and is highly food motivated, making continued training fun and rewarding. Add in her love of bones and chews, and you've got a happy pup ready to settle into family life.

After spending her early days caring for everyone else, Martha is more than ready to find a forever family who will love and spoil her the way she deserves.

Come meet Martha... but fair warning—you may leave with a permanent shadow and a lap full of kisses.

If you are interested in adopting, please visit our website and complete an adoption application at www.elpasocountycanine.org/adopt

El Paso County Canine Rescue's Adoption Policy
Please bear with us as we process applications! We are working on changing our processes to function during the COVID-19 outbreak. We have had a big increase in people wanting to adopt (yay!) so it's taking us a bit of time to get through the applications. We work on a first-come, first-serve basis. You must apply for adoption before you will be able to meet with a pup. If you meet with a dog and decide to adopt, we can process your adoption right then and you can go home with your new family member! Thank you for adopting from us and saving our sweet dogs!
