Marlowe's Story

Meet Marlowe

Marlowe is a 1-year-old, 12-lb Yorkie mix who was found roaming near I-95 & Philips Hwy with Baxter. After no owner came forward, we got them cleaned up (hello, shaved mats!) and started their vetting journey.

Marlowe can be skittish with new people, but once he feels safe? He's your best friend, front and center, demanding ALL the lovings, attention, and FOOD (honestly, "JP" for Jealous Pig would have fit him just fine). He can also jump shockingly high if you're holding snacks.

Like many terriers, Marlowe likes to be in charge. He'll try to correct other dogs who get too wild (even though he can be a little wild himself). He's still learning that the world isn't such a scary place - when he first arrived, even football on TV was overwhelming! With patience, training, and confidence-building, he's already making progress and will shine as a little adventure buddy.

Because Marlowe struggles a bit with separation anxiety and still needs work with leash training, apartment living wouldn't be ideal (your neighbors would agree ). A secure yard would give him a safe place to practice, build confidence, and reduce the risk of him bolting when he's feeling unsure.

Why isn't he being adopted with Baxter? Because they don't have to be - and training one dog is plenty for most people. Plus, Marlowe is a jealous pig and Baxter deserves his own spotlight too.

Looking for an Adventure Buddy to bond with, teach trust, and seize each day with?
So is Marlowe!!

Adoption radius: 150 miles from Jacksonville, FL
Other pets must be vaccinated, spayed/neutered & on heartworm prevention
Apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/PPFL-A-4049
