Marlowe's Story
THE SWEETEST LITTLE SOMEBODY

Marlowe is 20 pounds of scruff, sweetness, and one of those little faces that makes it very difficult to walk past her without stopping to tell her something nice.
She’s about 2 years old, gentle as can be, and has so much love tucked inside that tiny little body.

Marlowe likes to take a minute when she meets someone new. She’ll hang back, take you in, make sure you seem like a decent person. Fair. She’s 20 pounds. You’re enormous.

But give her that minute, and you get to meet the Marlowe we’ve completely fallen in love with.

She is sweet. Affectionate. Soft-natured. The kind of little dog who doesn’t have to do much of anything to make you want to scoop her up and tell her she never has to worry about another thing again.

And since coming to us, we’ve gotten to watch her blossom. That may be the best part of loving Marlowe. We’ve watched her become more comfortable, more curious, more sure of herself. Her tail wags a little easier. She comes a little closer. That sweet scruffy face lights up more and more. Nothing about it is a big production. It’s just Marlowe, quietly realizing that life is pretty good.

She’s wonderful with other dogs and cat friendly, too. Apparently four-legged creatures are immediately considered reputable. Humans receive a brief review.

At only 20 pounds, she’s the perfect little companion size—small enough to scoop up and take along, with just enough scruff to look mildly unprepared for whatever the day has planned.

But what we love most about Marlowe has nothing to do with how cute she is.
It’s how sweet she is.

There is so much tenderness in this little girl. So much love waiting for a person of her own. And there’s something pretty special about watching her realize, a little more every day, that she can let all of it show.

Someday, someone is going to be the person she looks for first. The lap she curls up in. The footsteps she follows through the house. The person she loves with that whole scruffy little heart.

And they’re going to wonder how 20 pounds of dog managed to become such a big part of their life.

We’ve already watched Marlowe come so far into her confidence. The best of Marlowe is still to come. And whoever gets to love her through all of it is getting one very, very special little girl.

+++++++

What Is a Benefactor Dog or Puppy, and Why Is the Adoption Fee Higher?

Benefactor dogs and puppies are typically specific breed mixes or high-demand rescues who tend to find homes quickly even with a higher adoption fee. These dogs play a special role in our mission.

Their increased fees help cover the costs for dogs who need much more time, care, and resources before they're ready for adoption. Some dogs spend month seven over a year in our care, requiring expensive surgeries, heartworm treatment, behavioral training, or ongoing medical support.

By adopting a Benefactor dog, you're not only giving them a loving home you're also helping to fund the second chance of another dog still waiting for theirs. It's a meaningful way to make a difference beyond just one life.

+++++++

ADOPTION APPLICATION:
https://form.jotform.com/260401018308040

+++++++

Marlowe is currently being fostered in Texas and will be transported to the perfect forever home by our rescue! We have transports departing each week!

+++++++

The Truth About Rescue:

Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and thats the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.

Adoption isn't about perfection; its about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they're finally home. Thats when youll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you'll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

+++++++

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.

Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.

Check out all of our adoptable pups and learn more about our rescue on our website: www.stmuttsrescue.com
