Marla's Story

Say hello to Marla, a lovely young lady estimated to be around 3 years old! We suspect she may be a Labrador mix, but that's just our best guess. Marla came to us as a stray, so her history is a mystery, and we're still getting to know her! A Little About Marla: Sweet as can be: Marla has a very sweet temperament and is ready to make someone's life a little brighter! Room to learn: Marla needs some help with leash manners and beginner-level training. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, she's ready to learn and grow! A mystery mix: We aren't completely sure of her breed, but we know she's one special girl! A fresh start: After coming to us as a stray, Marla is ready to find a family who will give her the love, safety, and stability she deserves. Marla may need a little guidance as she settles into her new life, but her sweet temperament makes her a wonderful girl to get to know. She's ready to start her next chapter with a family of her very own! Could that be you? Come meet Marla at Dessin! We're open every day from 12–3, no appointment needed.

Dessin Animal Shelter's Adoption Policy

Adoption: You need to submit an adoption application. The link is below. Once approved, we'll schedule an appointment. Spay and neuter: No pet gets adopted without being spayed or neutered. We're part of the solution to the pet overpopulation problem. Ten point behavioral assessment: A formal, ten point behavioral assessment is conducted on each dog to attempt to identify aggression or behavior problems, as well as to learn about the dog's personality. This helps us determine the best type of home for each dog/puppy.
