Marky Mark's Story

Meet Marky Mark, an adorable 11 month old neutered male mixed breed puppy, weighing about 25 lbs! Marky and his 5 brothers (the Boy Band litter) were born to mama Betty (Cattle Dog mix weighing about 28 lbs) on 1/10/25. We think they are mixed with some kind of hound. Marky has the cutest short, stubby little legs and an iconic underbite! Marky can be a bit shy and unsure of new people/dogs at first and will bark at them, but he warms up quickly once he gets to know you. He is gentle and he loves to cuddle with both humans and dog friends. He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats. He is medically up to date, crate trained, and mostly housebroken (he does mark a bit so has been wearing a belly band indoors - he was very recently neutered, so we are hoping this will subside with time). As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs. We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted. As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. Paws Rescue League Inc.'s Adoption Policy

WE ARE A FOSTER BASED RESCUE AND ARE LICENSED IN CT. We have fosters throughout New England. The applicant MUST be willing to meet the dog at the foster's location. 1) You must fill out an application. Applications can take 2-5 days to complete, Please go on our website to submit an application: https://www.pawsrescueleague.org/adoptable-dogs.html YOUR INQUIRY WILL NOT BE PROCESSED UNLESS AN APPLICATION HAS BEEN SUBMITTED 2) A home visit will be scheduled with with the potential adopter, either in person or over a virtual video call. Once you have had your home visit, you will receive an email notifying you of our decision. 3) If approved a meet and greet will be arranged with you, and the dog and the foster parent. So you and your family/fur members can meet the dog and make sure everyone gets along. 4) We send adopters the adoption contract prior to the meet and greet so you have a chance to read over the adoption contract. Adopters must sign the contract before taking the dog home with them. You have 48 hours after meeting the dog to decide to adopt or not to adopt. - We try not to hold up dogs for too long and do not want to miss out on a good home for them. 5) If you choose to adopt, you will need to sign before picking the dog up, or bringing the dog home. We ask for a "I am furever home" picture to post to our website after each dog has been adopted! ** We are NOT adopting to MA or ME residents at this time! Thank you!
