Marjorie's Story

3 years is too long to be waiting for your forever home! Please tag and share to help Marjorie find her forever home!
Meet Marjorie!
Marjorie is a beautiful brindle 4 and a 1/2 year old pit bull mix, and is more than ready for her forever home! She was rescued by Saving Hope in the fall of 2023 right after giving birth to 9 puppies. She has overcome heartworms and a severe resp infection that almost took her life. Marjorie is now perfectly healthy.
She is crate trained and does well in her crate at night and while her foster is at work. She thrives with clear direction from her person and positive feedback when she does the right thing – she tries her very best to follow all the rules! She has the cutest tippy-tap dance when excited, waiting for a treat, or when she’s working on a skill.
While there are no children in her current foster home, she loves everyone and would likely do well with children 10+ as she appreciates her space being respected and a calm household would help her adjust faster.
Marjorie loves nothing more than to keep busy managing squirrels and lizards in the yard. This is her main energy outlet currently, so a backyard would be ideal. She needs at least a 6-foot tall fence when off leash because this girl is athletic... anyone want an agility dog? She might be it! She exhibits prey drive tendencies so cats, small dogs or other small animals are not a good fit. She takes breaks to sunbathe and would be content to do this nonstop, but she listens well when it’s time to come inside. When it’s time to rest, she is very respectful of furniture but if she is invited up, she will be more than happy to cuddle.
Marjorie is very quiet unless she is barking at a squirrel or playing with her foster brother, who she has become quite close to (a boxer/pit bull mix). She has some resource guarding tendencies with specific toys, but she responds well to clear guidance from a human leader. She would LOVE to be included in her person’s routines and adventures and would do well as an only dog or with a passive medium to large male. It won’t take long to fall in love with Miss Marjorie!

To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn't obligate you, but it is the first step. We don't get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
