Marita's Story

Meet Marita, affectionately known as Rita by her foster family-a sweet, loyal little companion who is looking for someone to share life with every step of the way. Marita spent many years as a mama dog in a puppy mill and is now discovering what it means to be loved, safe, and part of a family.

One thing is certain: Marita does not enjoy being alone. She thrives when she has her people nearby and would love to be your constant sidekick, whether you're working from home, running errands, relaxing on the couch, or heading out for a walk. Because she takes comfort from canine companionship, Rita would do best in a home with another friendly dog who can help her feel secure and continue building her confidence.

Marita is doing wonderfully with potty training when she is taken outside regularly. She also walks beautifully on a leash, happily trotting along beside you despite her short little legs.

While Marita is still learning to trust people completely, she continues to make progress every day. She may not be a full-time cuddle bug yet, but she wants to be close to her people and is becoming more affectionate as she realizes she is finally safe.

Marita gets along wonderfully with cats and has proven to be a respectful and easygoing housemate. She is also not afraid to use her voice when something doesn't seem right in her world. If she notices something unusual, she'll let you know with a bark or two.
As a result of severe dental disease from her years of breeding, Rita no longer has any teeth. Don't let that fool you, though-she still enjoys life to the fullest and doesn't let it slow her down one bit.

Marita is a gentle soul with a huge heart, looking for a patient family willing to give her the love, companionship, and security she has always deserved. In return, she'll be your devoted little shadow, following you wherever life takes you.

All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped.

To meet this sweet pup, fill out an application today! https://www.carverscotths.org/

Carver-Scott Humane Society's Adoption Policy
At the Carver Scott Humane Society, we follow an Adopter's Welcome philosophy. This means that instead of an overwhelming application process, home visits, and hoop jumping, we take a conversational approach to our adoptions. Our goal is to make adoptions possible and help you be a successful pet parent! Once an application is submitted, we take applications as "first-come, first-considered." While this does not guarantee that the first applicant will adopt the animal of their choice, it does guarantee that we will process the application all the way through before moving on to the next application in line. If you see an animal you are interested in, please apply as soon as possible! This does not obligate you to the animal in case you change your mind, but may assist in securing your place in line for that animal.
