Mariposa

Meet Mariposa!

Mariposa is a young female Rat Terrier mix with a low to moderate energy level and a soft, sensitive heart. She does well with dogs and cats and feels comforted by having animal friends around her.

Mariposa is shy around people and needs a patient, understanding home that will give her time to feel safe. She may take a little while to warm up, but with consistency, kindness, and gentle encouragement, she begins to show her sweet nature. Because she is still young, she continues to develop her confidence and will benefit from ongoing socialization and positive reinforcement training to help her blossom.

She would thrive in a calm environment where her adopters celebrate small victories and allow her to build trust at her own pace. Watching a shy dog learn to feel safe and loved is an incredibly rewarding journey, and Mariposa is ready for someone willing to take that journey with her.

Excited to find your new family member at Wags and Whiskers?
