Mario's Story

He’s the kind of pup who loves to lean into you, snuggle up, and charm you with his big personality and clever tricks (he knows sit, down, paw, "house," and can even open the front door!). Mario thrives around people and other dogs, especially his siblings, though he can be a bit protective of toys or treats when other dogs are nearby — but never shows any aggression to people, even if you take something from his mouth. He walks beautifully on a leash with minimal pulling, loves to play outdoors, and is potty trained to use indoor pads. He does have some separation anxiety and will bark or cry if left completely alone, but he does great if he has a dog friend by his side. He’s full of energy, full of love, and ready for a home that will keep up with his playful spirit and give him the companionship he craves. A fenced yard and a doggy sibling would be ideal for this sweet, smart boy.

Breed: Mixed breed
Age: 1 year old
Sex: Male
Neutered: Yes
Weight: 42 lbs
Good with: People, dogs
Not good with: Cats
Kids: No past exposure
House-trained: Yes (indoor pee pads)
Separation anxiety: Yes (only when left completely alone)
Leash skills: Very good, minimal pulling
Personality: Affectionate, playful, smart, attention-loving
Training: Knows basic commands, crate trained
Other: Barks at delivery trucks, will chase bugs and cats if off-leash
