Meet Marianne!<br/><br/>****July Adoption Special - Ends July 31st!****<br/><br/>Aka "Sadie" as her foster parent has nicknamed her, is as sweet as they come. Some rescue dogs capture your heart the moment you meet them. Others quietly work their way into your heart over time. Marianne is most definitely the second kind. This sweet, gentle girl first came to Street Dog Hero back in October of last year, and while her journey has been slower than many, watching her blossom has been one of the most rewarding transformations we've witnessed.<br/><br/>Every day, Marianne grows a little braver. Her foster mom says that she loves to go on walks and would be a great hiking dog. She loves other dogs and would love to be in a home with a friend. She is a cheese connoisseur and loves cheese treats - Gouda is a favorite. She sleeps in a dog bed by our bed. <br/><br/>Thanks to the love, patience, and dedication of her foster family, she's discovering that the world isn't quite as scary as she once believed. She's now enjoying 2-3 walks each day, and they've quickly become one of her favorite activities! She walks beautifully on leash, takes passing cars, unfamiliar sounds, and other dogs in stride, and continues to build confidence with every new adventure. She's even visited the dog park and absolutely loved it! While she's still working on confidently hopping into certain vehicles, she's making steady progress and continues to surprise us with how willing she is to try new things when given the time and encouragement she needs. One of the biggest milestones? Marianne now happily accepts affection from her foster family and recently chose to approach a visiting friend for pets-the very first time she's sought affection from someone outside her foster home. Moments like these may seem small, but for Marianne, they're enormous victories worth celebrating. If there's one thing we've learned, it's that another confident, friendly dog is the key to Marianne's happiness. She absolutely comes alive around canine companions, especially her best friend, former Street Dog Hero alum Ganache. Watching her run, play, and simply enjoy being a dog is nothing short of heartwarming. A playful dog buddy isn't just a bonus for Marianne-it will help continue building her confidence and show her that life can be fun. Marianne isn't looking for perfection.
