Mariah's Story

Welcome to the ReLeashed Rescue family, Mariah.

Some stories are hard to understand, and Mariah’s is one of them.

This beautiful girl was found abandoned inside a home after her owners moved away, left behind to fend for herself. She is severely emaciated and has a long road ahead before her body can heal.

But what amazes me most isn’t what she’s been through—it’s who she still chooses to be.

Despite everything, Mariah still loves people. She greets us with a gentle heart, a wagging tail, and so much hope. I honestly don’t know how a dog who has experienced so much neglect can still be so incredibly sweet, but that’s exactly who she is.

We estimate Mariah is around 2 years old. Sadly, she’s already been used to have puppies, and she also tested heartworm positive. Those chapters of her life are over now.

From this day forward, our promise to Mariah is simple: she will never be forgotten again.

Right now, our priority is getting weight back on her and helping her become healthy enough for the care she needs. Once she’s strong enough, she’ll be spayed and begin heartworm treatment. Then we’ll help her find the forever family she has always deserved.

If you’d like to be part of Mariah’s journey, donations toward her medical care and recovery are greatly appreciated. Every dollar helps us give this sweet girl the fresh start she’s waited far too long for.

Welcome to your new chapter, sweet Mariah. If you have had previous pets (like a cat or other dogs) we do a vet check to ensure they are up to date on shots etc.and we check 2-3 references. Then the last step is a home visit to basically ensure there are no obvious dangers for the dog in the home. The adoption fee is $100 and covers shots, microchip, spay/neuter. www.releashedrescue.com
