Margie's Story

Margie and Kestrel (who we believe are sisters) are making beautiful progress. Kestrel, especially, is starting to wag her tail, give kisses and seek attention. Margie is still pretty shut down, but gentle and easy to handle. Thank you awesome trapper, shelter partners and transporters for helping to get them to safety. We first heard about two abandoned pregnant mamas months ago. They had been dumped near a busy freeway with some other dogs, but no one could get near them and they delivered in the bushes somewhere nearby. Apparently, one mama lost all of her pups, and the other mama had just 3 surviving pups. Finally, a trapping expert was called in and was able to get the two mamas and three remaining pups to safety at a shelter. They reached out to Dogwood for help. The mamas joined us too and appear to be maybe Frenchie/Lab type mixes of around 35 pounds. The pups will probably mature at 30-40 pounds. We're guessing them to be 7 weeks old. All will be available after vetting and medical clearance.

Applications at:

http://dogwoodanimalrescue.org/adoption-application-dogs/

You can follow us on social media at:

https://.www.instagram.com/dogwoodanimalrescue/
https://.www.facebook.com/.DogwoodAnimalRescue/

Making a difference, one animal at a time.
