Margarito's Story

YOU MUST APPLY AT https://www.saveourscruff.org/adoption-application TO BE CONSIDERED TO ADOPT MARGARITO!

Here are some things we love about MARGARITO:
• He’s a couch-potato at heart and enjoys napping after a 15-minute play session
• He’s cuddly (big fan of snoozing on his human’s lap) AND clumsy
• He’s got the best goofy antics, which keep his foster fam on their toes!

To sum it up, he’s perfect. Or perfectly imperfect. You choose. Cuddly from the get-go, he’s also pretty playful and enjoys indoor engagement like tug!

MARGARITO knows you’ve got stuff to do and is cool with his humans working a 9–5 job. Lately, MARGARITO has been getting familiar with Toronto’s Liberty Village and has shown us that city living would work just fine for him longer term. He’s doing so well with leash walking, going on a few each day near busy parks. Any potential adopters that also happen to be condo-dwellers out there? Get at us! Naturally, there’ll be an adjustment period over the first few weeks as he gets comfortable with a new place. No biggie there.

With consistent training, MARGARITO has made strides when it comes to meeting other dogs and would likely do fine with another older, calm dog in the home. He prefers interacting with larger dogs. Smaller scruffs aren’t for him; you may notice he becomes reactive with them, which looks like lunging when they get in his space. Like all SOS dogs, going to an obedience class will be super helpful for taking steps forward. He hasn’t yet met kids or cats in the condo he currently lives in, though with a proper introduction, he’ll accept new people as part of the pack.

Apply to adopt MARGARITO. He’s for sure gonna come on too strong (he also loooves play wrestling and fetch with his toy elephant), but he’ll be a treat once he gets comfy with you.

MARGARITO is available for informal meetups. Send us an email stating you’d like to set up a M&G and give us some insight into why you think you’re a good fit for him! Please email adoption@saveourscruff.org to set this up. Please note that his current location is Toronto.
