Meet Marcus is a *2-year-old, 48-pound* sweetheart with a gentle heart and an easygoing personality. When he first came to us from the shelter, he was covered in scabs from what appeared to be a dog attack. Despite his rough start, Marcus has blossomed into a kind, well-mannered dog who is simply happy to be part of the family. He matches the energy around him—if it is time to play, he will join in, but when things settle down, you will likely find him stretched out on the couch with a chew bone or taking a peaceful nap. * *Gentle & Loving:* Marcus loves pets, affection, and spending time with his people, but he is not a Velcro dog. He is content being nearby without needing constant attention. * *Easygoing Personality:* Some of his favorite things are chewing on a good bone, napping on the couch, and enjoying a calm home. * *Matches the Energy:* Marcus is not a high-energy dog. He respects their boundaries and adjusts well to the personalities around him. * *Confidence Comes with Routine:* He can be unsure of himself in new situations, but once he learns the routine and knows what to expect, his sweet personality really shines. * *Well-Mannered:* Marcus knows the *“kennel”* command, goes into his crate when asked, and does not jump on people. * *Leash Trained:* He enjoys walks and exploring at an easy, comfortable pace. * *Cat Tested:* He had a brief interaction with a cat and did well. * *Food:* Marcus eats *Purina Dog Chow* and does well on it. * *A Tough Survivor:* Marcus completed heartworm treatment and has healed from his previous injuries. After running or playing especially hard, he may occasionally have a slight limp from those old injuries, but it does not stop him from enjoying life. * *Ready for Adoption:* Marcus is *neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and on monthly heartworm prevention.* Marcus is the kind of dog who fits naturally into everyday life. He is gentle, respectful, and happy to take life as it comes. Whether the family is playing in the yard or relaxing on the couch, Marcus is content to join the crowd without demanding to be the center of attention. He is in foster in NY. His $400 adoption fee covers medical care to include vaccines, neuter, microchip, heartworm treatments, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY.
