Marc Anthony's Story
My name is Marc Anthony. I’m a 9 year old French Bulldog who is loyal to a fault. I come from a great home with my mom who I love more than anything but she got very sick.

I tried my best to take care of her. I kept her company and made sure she rested after her cancer treatments. I guarded the house. I even stopped playing with my ball, which used to be my favorite thing to do, because I was busy taking care of her. I got very worried about my mom because I thought I needed to protect her from everything and everyone. I didn’t even like when her friends would come over to the house or if we went anywhere where there were other people. I started having to wear a muzzle whenever meeting new people or going anywhere with mom to keep everyone safe. All of this was very stressful for both of us so she decided it would be better for me to find a new home where I could relax and just be a dog again for my senior years. That’s how I came to North Paw Rescue.

My foster family has helped me so much in relearning how to just be a dog again. I’ve been taking some lessons from my foster mom about who is really in charge and learning from my canine foster siblings how to have fun and play. I get along great with the resident dogs now but I really hate the cat. A lot. Please don’t try to take me home with you if there’s a cat there!

I’m a gentleman in the house, according to my foster mom. I’m potty trained. I wait until I’m told it’s ok to eat even if my dish is full and right in front of me. I love treats and I’ll do whatever you want for one but my foster mom says I need someone who will be firm with me and remind me who the boss is in case I forget. I still wear a muzzle for new experiences and new people but that’s just until I’m sure this new person or place is safe for me and my people.

Do you think you might have space in your home for an older dog like me who may need some extra attention and patience? I hope so!

Mark Anthony's adoption fee is $400, which includes: his alter, a microchip, his rabies and age appropriate DAPP vaccines, flea/heartworm preventative, and a deworming treatment while in foster care.

If you think he may be perfect for you, please apply using the link below!

https://www.cognitoforms.com/NorthPawRescue/NorthPawRescueDogAdoptionApplication

**Unfortunately, we cannot adopt out to Canada at this time.

**We normally require a 60 minute adoption radius, but are willing to consider homes further away from his foster home to help him find the right home. Marc Anthony is currently being fostered in Branchport, NY.
