Maplebee's Story

Hi. Yes. It’s me. Maplebee. 🐝✨Before you ask — yes, I am this cute in real life. No, it’s not a filter. I woke up like this. I am what scientists (and by scientists I mean my foster) call a “happy little girl.” You could say that I am a well-balanced queen. I have energy for fun, but I also appreciate a good recharge. If you are looking for a decorative throw pillow that never moves, keep scrolling. If you are looking for a little adventurer who will grow into a loyal, loving companion and occasionally judge your life decisions from the floor — congratulations. You’ve found her.

I am an 11-week-old, 20-pound female Great Pyrenees mix. Yes. Twenty pounds. At eleven weeks. Please take a moment to absorb that information. I am part of the Fairy Hollow Litter. Which means I am one of fourteen. FOURTEEN. Are we all from one litter? No. Are we two litters spaced about a week apart? Yes. Were we provided a color-coded spreadsheet outlining who came from which mother? Also no. If a seven-day age difference is going to cause you emotional distress, I gently encourage you to keep scrolling. We do not spiral over calendars when you are this cute. Now, let’s discuss how I got here. Nature did its thing. Humans got overwhelmed. We were living our best unsupervised toddler lives running in and out of the road (0/10, do not recommend). Some incredible volunteers stepped in, and now here I am — safe, thriving, and preparing for my glow-up. Both moms are being spayed thanks to PPFT. The three other adults on the property? Also getting altered thanks to those rockstar volunteers. We love a responsible ending to a chaotic origin story. The next thing you should understand is this: I am going to be a big girl. Yes, I am adorable. Yes, I look like a walking marshmallow with opinions. Yes, hugging me currently fixes approximately 87% of your problems. But let’s be clear. I am going to grow. I will lose my puppy fluff. I will enter my awkward teenage stage. And when that happens? I want you to still love me. We are not in this for the baby fluff. We are in this for the long haul. Kay?

How do I get along with other dogs? I am, respectfully, the life of the party. If there is another dog within a 50-foot radius, I have already spotted them, assessed them, and scheduled playtime. My foster has a 2-year-old Great Pyrenees, and let me tell you — I am OBSESSED. Big dog? Fluffy? Slightly more mature? Perfect. I would like to wrestle immediately. I also love playing with my brother because sibling rivalry builds character. Do I enjoy playing with humans? Sure. You’re fine. You’re great. Love you. But if another dog walks by? I will absolutely leave you standing there mid-belly rub. Priorities. I thrive with other dogs. I love having a playmate. I will happily make new friends. And if you already have a confident, playful dog at home? Congratulations. I have selected them as my future best friend. Full disclosure: there are no cats in my current kingdom, so I have not personally conducted field research. Based on my personality, energy level, and general enthusiasm for all moving objects, I would probably assume a cat is just a strangely shaped, slightly dramatic dog and attempt to initiate playtime immediately. Have I been around kids? Nope. Given that I am an 11-week-old, 20-pound Great Pyrenees mix with enthusiasm levels set to “LET’S GOOOO,” I would likely assume children are exciting new teammates who move unpredictably and make interesting noises. I am friendly, social, and love people. But I am still a baby. Which means I jump, I wiggle, I zoom, and I occasionally forget where all my limbs are. With respectful, dog-savvy kids and adults who supervise and teach everyone appropriate boundaries (that includes me), I could absolutely learn how to be a gentle giant.

Energy Level: 7/10. I love to explore. I love to play. I love to wrestle. I love to investigate suspicious leaves and invisible backyard intruders. I have solid “let’s do something fun” energy… but I am not running a 24/7 nightclub. I bring the fun… and then I bring the nap. So if you want a couch ornament, I am not your girl. If you want a marathon runner who never stops moving, also not me. If you want a playful, happy, growing big-dog baby who will romp, explore, bond, and then snooze like an angel, I think we will get along wonderfully. Adventure-Seeker or Homebody? Oh, I am absolutely an adventure-seeker. Respectfully. Exploration is in my bones. I want to see things. Smell things. Learn things. Experience things. Will I settle down and nap after conquering new territory? Obviously. Even explorers require rest. Overall Temperament? In summary: I am joy with legs. I wake up ready to participate in life. I want to see what’s new. I want to wrestle. I want to investigate. I want to be involved in whatever is happening — even if what’s happening is you walking to the kitchen for no reason. I should probably supervise that. When I get sleepy, I transform into a marshmallow. I will curl up on the couch next to you (or slightly on you), request gentle pets, and melt into the softest little puddle while I drift off. It’s very therapeutic. You’re welcome in advance.

Would I thrive with a securely fenced yard, or could I do apartment life with polite leash walks? I am an 11-week-old, 20-pound Great Pyrenees mix who has already declared herself an explorer of uncharted backyard territories and part-time closet investigator. The idea that I would be fully satisfied staring out of an apartment window contemplating life while waiting for scheduled leash breaks is… ambitious. I want room to stretch these growing legs. I want to patrol. I want to sniff the perimeter like it’s my full-time security job. I want to wrestle with dog friends and then dramatically collapse in the grass like I’ve defended the realm. So yes. Fence = excellent life choices. Apartment with minimal space and “we’ll just see how it goes” = probably not the fairy tale ending you’re hoping for. I have big-dog dreams. Let’s set me up accordingly. Let’s just get this out of the way: I am 11 weeks old. I did not raise myself. I did not download “Perfectly Polished Companion 2.0” before arriving. Potty training? That’s a team project. Puppy-proofing? Also on you. If you leave your shoes in reach, I will assume they are enrichment tools. If the trash can is accessible, I will assume it’s an interactive puzzle. Socialization? Critical. Introduce me to people, places, sounds, experiences — kindly and thoughtfully. I am going to be a big girl. Confidence and stability don’t just magically appear. You build them. Training? Yes. Kindly. Consistently. Without expecting me to function like a robot. I am smart. I am capable. I will learn beautifully with structure and patience. But I am not here to perform tricks for applause. I am here to grow into a steady, loyal guardian-type companion. You bring the leadership. I’ll bring the loyalty.

Listen. I know I’m adorable. I know I’m fluffy. I know I look like I belong in a children’s book about woodland creatures and magic. But I am more than fluff. I will grow into a steady, loyal, big-hearted companion who bonds deeply with her people and takes her job of loving you very seriously. So, this is the part where we separate the serious from the “just here for the fluff” crowd. If you would like to adopt me, you will need to fill out an adoption application. With effort. So that it can be sent to my foster family for review. No, commenting “OMG I WANT HER” does not count. And when approved? You will need to physically pick me up in Broken Arrow, OK. I will not be teleporting. I will not be Ubering.

Fill out the app at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app
Make the drive.
Join the Fairy Hollow legacy.
