Maple Merry's Story
This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

TO APPLY:
1) copy/paste this link https://gdrne.com/adopt/adoption-application/
2) OR at the bottom of the page click on "Adoption Policy" and then it will bring up the adoption application.

Meet the MERRY litter - a group Lab/Hound mix puppies who were found as strays on the side of the road. Back in MARCH 2025! We included a group photo of the 10 pups when we originally found them on the side of the road. They were scared and hungry, but now they are all happy and healthy and ready to find their forever families!

CURRENT:
Maple Merry, a 1 yr old lab mix, who's as sweet as maple syrup on chicken and waffles, (previous weight was 33 pounds (as of 5/4/25). Working on getting an updated weight.

She's super sweet and loves getting attention. She will return the favor by smothering you in her puppy kisses. She loves to play with her siblings, balls and dog toys! This girl will have you smiling and laughing all day long!

Maple Merry is also special needs girl who is looking for that special angel to take her into their home and take care of her. Maple Merry presented with a re-luxated Left medial patella. Maple had grade 4 prior to surgery and the surgical procedures ( TTT, block tracheoplasty, medial release and lateral imbrication) were performed on 10/16/25. First recheck on 11/13/25 patella was already re-luxated. According to the rescue, Maple has been walking well without pain/lameness. She's a trooper!

We believe that Mary Maple can go on to have a good quality and happy life without additional surgeries! However an owner may want to do the extraordinary for her and proceed with a CT scan and additional corrective surgery. Sadly, Great Dog Rescue of New England is a small charity without any outside funding or any government assistance and we just do not have the ability to take these extraordinary measures for this wonderful girl. We need that patient, miracle family who will either love her and care for her as she is or provide her with additional surgeries which could change her life! Maple is looking for that angel! Will that be you?

All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be.

To adopt or learn more about Maple Merry, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $495] **

PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works.

Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
