MAPLE 425's Story

Maple is a lovable 4 1/2-month-old Lab mix with a happy heart, a playful spirit, and plenty of puppy kisses to share! She's everything you'd expect from a young puppy: curious, energetic, affectionate, and always ready for her next adventure.

She's doing a great job with potty training and is well on her way to being house-trained. Like most puppies, she'll thrive with a consistent schedule and routine. Maple is also learning her manners, including keeping all four paws on the floor. She loves people so much that sometimes her excitement gets the best of her, so she'll do best with a family that's willing to continue her training.

Maple absolutely adores other dogs and would love a canine playmate in her forever home. She enjoys wrestling with her foster-dog sister, playing with toys, zooming around the yard, and curling up for a good snuggle when she's all worn out. One of her sweetest traits? She loves her toys but doesn't destroy them!

She's learning to walk on a leash and is making progress every day, even if she occasionally gets herself tangled up! Maple is also working on crate training. She may bark for a few minutes at bedtime, but she settles down quickly and has come to see her crate as a safe, cozy place to rest. She happily takes naps there during the day, too.

Because Maple has lots of puppy energy, she'd love a home with a fenced yard where she can run and play. However, she'd also do well in an apartment as long as she gets plenty of daily walks, exercise, and opportunities to burn off that youthful energy.

Maple has done well with children, though, because she's still learning just how strong and bouncy she is, she'll need supervision around younger kids until her manners are fully polished. She hasn't been introduced to cats yet, but she does think birds and squirrels are pretty exciting to chase!

If you're looking for a fun-loving, affectionate puppy who will keep you smiling, Maple is ready to fill your home with love, laughter, and lots of happy tail wags. She can't wait to find the forever family she's been dreaming of!

If you would like to be considered as a potential adopter for one of our great dogs, please go to our website- (SEE PINNED POST) and submit an application. Our application process includes landlord approval and vet checks. Please make sure all of your information is current and accurate, including a valid email address and phone numbers. Inaccuracies and/or incomplete data will delay and/or cancel your application. We strive to process all applications in a timely manner, but with the high volume of applications we are receiving, it is taking anywhere from 1-3 weeks. You may be contacted via email if there are concerns or questions. Once all of your information is reviewed and if your application is approved, you will be notified via email. Submitting an application and receiving an approval does not guarantee you will be adopting the dog you applied for. Once you move to the meet and greet process, you will be contacted by the foster family to further discuss the dog, and answer questions you may have, and if applicable, a meet and greet will be set up at our adoption center. Meet and greets are only set up with approved applicants, and we require all members in the household to be present, as well as any current dogs in the home. Meet and greets take place at our adoption center located in New Berlin. If you are proceeding with adopting a Lucky Mutt, we will require the dog to have a Martingale collar at the time of adoption, to ensure the dogs safety during the transition to a new home.

Current Adoption Fees Are:
$425+tax for puppies to 3 years old
$375+tax for ages 4-7
$275+tax for ages 8 and up
Bonded pairs vary

The adoption fee covers spay/neuter, up to date age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, general deworming, heartworm test, (if over 6 months) and a certified veterinary inspection. Please be aware, listed dog breeds are based on information provided and cannot be guaranteed. Submitting an application for a particular dog does not guarantee that you will be the applicant chosen, we receive several applications for each dog. Our adopters are picked based on the needs of the dog, and the home we feel with best fit based on your responses to our application, vet information and landlord requirements. Approved applicants not chosen for the dog you applied for, will be in active status for a period of six months. We encourage you to watch Petfinder, Facebook and our website for upcoming dogs. Should you see a dog that interests you, please send us a Facebook message or an email with your approval number. Please be patient with us, as Lucky Mutts Rescue is run strictly by volunteers and many of us work full time jobs, have families and also foster dogs. Thank you for considering Lucky Mutts Rescue for your next furry family member!
