Maple's Story
Meet Maple!

Maple is an adorable Hound mix puppy, around 6 months old, who is ready to discover what life outside of a kennel can truly be.

Maple and her two siblings, Honey and Biscuit, found their way to our shelter after unforeseen circumstances left them without anyone to care for them. We were told that the puppies had reportedly spent their entire lives in a small 6x6 kennel in the yard.

It’s heartbreaking to think that such young puppies have experienced so little of the world.

When Maple first arrived, she was hesitant to leave her kennel here at the shelter. After all, the only world she knew was a small enclosed space. She’s now learning that there is so much more waiting for her beyond those four walls — including this strange new thing called a leash!

She’s still figuring it out, but Maple is making progress every day.

And while she may be unsure about some of the new experiences coming her way, there is one thing Maple has never been shy about: loving people!

She is VERY friendly and has a sweet, happy personality. She also does wonderfully with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a confident canine friend to help show her the ropes.

Maple has so much of the puppyhood ahead of her that she never got to experience. She deserves the chance to run, play, explore, learn, and discover all the wonderful things that come with being a puppy.

She doesn’t need someone who expects her to know everything right away.

She needs someone willing to patiently introduce her to the world and celebrate every little milestone along the way.

The first time she walks confidently on a leash.
The first time she explores a big yard.
The first time she realizes she can run just because she wants to.
The first time she curls up in a warm bed and knows she is home.

Maple is ready to start making those memories.

Her world has been very small so far.

Let’s help her make it a whole lot bigger
