MAPLE

So much to say about Maple..... She is a shihtzu/poodle mix gal who is almost 4 months old and weighs 7 lbs. Maple came to us from another Rescue who took her in from a breeder due to being "vision impaired". We have had her eyes checked at our vet (not an ophthalmologist) who says she is probably blind but may have very little vision in her left eye. Foster mom says she can see light and will stare at the direction the light is coming from. Maple was born this way and you cannot tell by looking at her (eyes look normal). She has adapted well and all of her other senses help her to navigate the world. She is a very, very happy and playful girl who is full of puppy energy. She hears your voice and that must mean it's either time to play or lap sit! She is great with other dogs and adjusts to new situations like a champ. She is a gentle soul but a spit fire with her very outgoing and confident personality, Nothing seems to bother her. We have put her in several new situations and she is right at home no matter what. Maple is one of the most beautiful pups I have ever seen. Her coat is rust/cream/red/black/brown all mixed together to make almost a brindle look. Unfortunately she was matted and had to have some of her gorgeous locks cut off but she's still beautiful and it will grow back! This girl is amazing at learning a new place and routine quickly. She just jumps in and here we go! Maple is a happy and normal puppy in every way other than her eyesight. If you have it in your heart to help this little one, you won't be sorry.
