Meet Manny - $100

Manny is a sweet 3 year old boy who loves to play, go for walks and be near people. He gets along with many different pups and loves humans. At approximately 70 lbs, he is a heavy player so small dogs may get pushed around unintentionally unless they know how to hold their own. Manny plays great with larger dogs but is learning to listen to their cues, he isn't overly aggressive, but he can get rough and tumble and some dogs misinterpret his intentions.

Good with kids and just curiously interested in our cat. He could use some work on leash manners, he likes to pull, but only because his nose works faster than his feet.

Manny will do best in a home with another dog to play and help burn energy, but will do well with the right, active family who's ready to keep up to tire him out. A home with a medium-to large sized, fenced yard that allows him freedom to run, play, fetch and explore would be ideal.

Apartments, town homes and other homes within close proximity are not recommended as he is a howler (he is a hound mix) and can get rather loud at times- both when you are home and when you are away. He will bark/howl approx 10 minutes when you leave and will do the same when he knows you come home because he's ready to come out :) but we are working on that and slowly cutting down the time of uncertainty when you leave, as he is learning you will come back.

He will sleep all night in his kennel and is very pleasant when he comes out in the morning. He also eats his meals in his kennel and has almost mastered the art of going in upon request.

He is a great eater and very food driven. He tries to be a good boy and not counter surf or trash dive but sometimes his stomach takes over his brain and he needs a gentle reminder. Manny is a huge pleaser, wants to make his people happy and be near them every chance he gets. Whether curled up behind an office chair or quietly waiting for you to come out from another room, he is simply always ready for you to spend time with him.

An active family would serve him best, he loves to run, go for walks and be the center of attention. His favorite toy is his prized octopus that he carries around and lovingly makes sure it is with him in his kennel at night. And nothing is sweeter than Manny and his kisses of appreciation for a belly rub or a good meal.
