Mango's Story

Meet Mango! Mango is a loving, attentive heeler with lots of energy and spunk. She loves to be outside, playing fetch or chewing on a toy, and is a great hiking companion. When she feels secure, Mango’s sweet nature really comes through and she will stick to her trusted people like glue! Mango is crate-trained and house-trained.

Mango would thrive in a family with experience working with herding dogs or somewhere she could be put to work. She is incredibly intelligent and loyal and is always looking for ways to be of service. This can lead to anxiety and restlessness if she is under-stimulated or bored. Though Mango is dedicated to her people, she tends to be nervous around people she doesn't know. Like many heelers, she has a tendency to nip or guide things with her snout. She is on a daily dose of thyroid medication.

Mango is very responsive to commands and treats, stays close, and wants very much to do the right thing—a great candidate for more advanced training! We recommend a no cat home. She is currently fostered with a multi-dog home, getting along with both male and female dogs. She is microchipped and heartworm negative.

Mango is being fostered in Maryville, TN. Mango is 35 lbs, and 2.5 years old.

--
