Maloos's Story

Adopt Maloos!
Maloos, which means “cute” in Farsi, is an adorable 4-year-old mini poodle with a heart full of love. This sweet girl, at just 9 pounds, is living proof that a little bit of patience and a lot of love can change a life.

When Maloos first came to us, she was incredibly anxious. Blindness, a result of untreated detached retinas, combined with the stress of a new environment, caused her to walk in nervous circles for days. But with a lot of love and patience, she began to relax. We’ve found that dogs are incredibly adept at using their other senses, and once a blind dog has mapped out their new home, they truly thrive.

Maloos is now confident enough to enjoy walks and exploring. She wears a special halo to help her navigate, which allows her to explore the world and avoid bumping into obstacles. She does need her space, as she can be protective of her food . Because of her past, she needs a calm, adult-only home where she can be the one and only pet. Maloos is very good at communicating when she needs some alone time—if she growls, she means it!

Maloos will need lifelong daily eye drops to keep her eyes healthy. She is still learning to accept them, so her new family will need to be gentle and patient.

Maloos has come a long way and is ready for a family who understands her needs and will continue to help her build confidence. She is looking for a home that will show her the world is a safe and loving place. If you're ready to open your heart to a special needs pup and give Maloos the safe, loving home she deserves, please contact us today!

Maloos is currently located in Long Beach, CA. Maloos is 4 years old and 9 lbs. She is a bichon mix, with an adorable underbite. Maloos is currently available for adoption
https://bichonrescuebrigade.org/adopt/adoption-form/
