Malcolm's Story

Meet Malcolm!
#592889

If you’re looking for a big personality wrapped in a playful, plush-toy-loving package, Malcolm might be your perfect match! He’s a happy, energetic boy who loves to play, show off his “sit” and “paw,” and will do just about anything for a tasty treat. He’s food-motivated but shows no signs of food aggression — just a gentle, eager attitude when it’s snack time.

Malcolm came to us with his best friend Maci, and they share a special bond. He’s done great meeting other dogs, too — he recently met an intact male Cane Corso and responded with friendly, playful energy the whole time!

Because of his history, Malcolm cannot live with chickens, poultry, or small animals. His previous owner also mentioned that he needs a little practice around children, so a home with adults or older kids who understand dog body language would be ideal.

He’s a sweet, sensitive guy who can be a bit dramatic about restraint or vet procedures — not aggressive, just anxious and very vocal when he senses something like a needle coming his way. With a patient, understanding owner (and maybe a few extra plush toys for comfort!), he’ll continue to gain confidence over time.

If you’re ready for a loyal, goofy companion who loves playtime and cuddles, Malcolm is waiting to meet you!

*CONTACT SHELTER DIRECTLY BY PHONE FOR MORE INFORMATION AND STATUS UPDATES*

Shelter Hours Below:
Tuesday through Friday- 10:00AM to 4:30PM
Saturday- 10:00AM to 3:30PM (Appt Only Please)
Sunday- Closed
Monday- Closed

12471 Taylor Complex Lane, Ashland, VA 23005

804 365 6485 Opt. 2
