Meet Malachai
Malachai was surrendered by his owner when she took him to the vet because of a tumor on his leg. The vet told her that he would have to have the leg removed due to the size and invasiveness of the tumor. She didn't want to do that so she elected to surrender him to a rescue. We got him to NY from Texas and were horrified by the size of the tumor and the amount of pain he was in.
Even though he was in pain he was so sweet and loving. We got him into the surgeons office and they agreed that amputation was the only option for our little boy. They kept him and did the surgery that day. Malachai rocked his surgery and was standing up as soon as his anesthsia wore off!!!!! We also suspected that he had bladder stones and that was sonfirmed as well. The vet said that the bladder surgery would have to done at another time because of the dangers of extended time under anesthesia so they will be taken care of in about two weeks.
You don't meet many pups with the personality and demeanor of this little man. He is just the sweetest boy in the world. He is already on the move and it seemed he was relieved to have the leg gone that was causing him so much pain. It has been sent out for a biopsy and we know that the lines will be clear around the site of the tumor. He is destined to have a wonderful life. Please say a prayer for this handsome little tripod.
Malachai has been through so much for a pup that is only 8 years old and around 10lbs. He truly deserves the best that life has to offer. Don't think of him as handicapped, because he doesn't think of himself that way. He is happy and loving and perfect in our eyes.
Malachai is located in Freeport NY
His adoption fee is $600
