Maki (MD)'s Story
Color: Cream Coat: Long-Hair
Pattern: None Gender: Male
Size: Tweenie Weight: 18 lbs
Age: 10 Years Category: Senior
Special needs dog? No Sanctuary dog? No
Spayed / Neutered? Yes
At-home adopter needed
Must have fenced yard
Needs dog buddy
No cats
No children
No large dogs
No small children
Quiet home needed
Meet sweet handsome Maki who comes with some baggage. He came to us because he's not a fan of children at all, ever. If you have children in your life, residents, visiting or otherwise, he's not the dog for you. Scroll on! Maki can be very timid when he first meets you and takes time to warm up so he requires lots of patience. If you are patient, he is very loving and attaches to his caregivers following them everywhere they go. He loves to sit in laps. He will benefit from a diet and exercise as he is a tad chubby.
He needs an all-adult quiet very experienced doxie savvy home who has time for him. Maki grew up with another small dog so even though he is shy with other dogs, we think he would benefit from a laid back doggie friend (doxie preferred) his size and age in his new home. Looking to place Maki into a single family home (no condos, townhomes, apartments) with a good-sized fenced yard with no pool, no doggie door, no invisible/electric fencing and minimal stairs (inside and outside).. Maki shouldn't have accidents in the house if he's taken out regularly.. He is crate-trained. Would prefer someone who is home more than not.
***This dog is being fostered in Maryland. Looking for local adopter(s) in order to do an in-person home visit. No exceptions.***. Go to www.drna.org to fill out an adoption application.
